Ramadan

*RAMADAN*

Error! Filename not specified.

WHY SHOULD WE PRAY FOR MUSLIMS?

Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. During each of its +/-30 days, Muslims are obligated

to fast from dawn until sunset. During this time they are supposed to abstain from food, drinking

liquids, smoking, and sexual relations. This is a time where Muslims seek God(Allah) in ways they

often do not throughout the rest of the year. Therefore, this is a great time for the Church to ask

God to reveal the truth of Himself to them.

Ramadan begins March 10th.

Under construction

We're getting a new roof.
Goodbye makuti (thatch)
and hello....??
we'll see what it looks like when it's finished!

Samuel's Achievements

Samuel is making great progress!
In this picture you see his mom holding a stool for him to be able
to push himself into his cart by himself.
This is a huge victory! It used to take 2-3 people to lift him into his cart.
He is so proud of this accomplishment and we rejoice with him.

He's demonstrating that he can lift his arms much higher these days as he does his exercises. You can see he still has one spot on his arm that is healing. It is much better than it used to be.

Please pray for him as he awaits a ruling that when complete should allow him to receive limited benefits from the Power Company. He's been waiting almost two years.

The chairs and tents represent something new that is happening- a mother of a child with cerebral palsy is strongly advocating for a school that will serve children with CP and other physical disabilities here in our area, since there is none right now. A vacant former school building has been located and permission given to renovate the school so that it can be used for this very purpose. Rejoice with us!! And pray for the many children and families who will benefit from it...may the Lord open the doors for us to be able to enter this space with His love and Good News.

Matthew is 13

Matthew was very surprised with a new bike for his birthday.
He's been enjoying riding it around our compound (neighborhood).

He invited a few friends to a local spot we enjoy that has bushbabies

at night for an after school birthday gathering.

Looks like they are posing for Lord of the Flies, doesn't it?

Micah's Adventures

Micah is our Adventurer...we went to a local spot for Matthew's birthday
and this is what we found...an ostrich we could feed from a basket.
Micah loved it!

And while we were in the big city

he had fun climbing the walls. Literally. 😆

Madylanne the Marvelous

Madylanne is doing some pretty amazing stuff these days.
Look at her homemade pizza!

And she noticed that my decorative candle kept "wilting" -

melting into a C shape due to our heat- and so she came up with a solution to keep it straight.

See? Told ya she was amazing.

Cancer free, praising God!

Thanks for praying for us on our trip to the capital city a few weeks back. By the grace of God I am clear of cancer, yeah! This December will make 10 years cancer free. Thanking the Lord for His mercy and tender care. And this time the doctor recommended a hospital that was new to me...and mighty comfortable!  I'm very thankful Mark came with me. I'm so grateful for his love and support.

And speaking of support, we are very grateful for your support, too. We are so thankful for your generous giving which allows us to have access to medical care.

They even brought me coffee and scones after the procedure was over.
I ate the scones before I snapped a picture. Yummy!

And look at the name of the room I was in...
the El Dorado room. Love it!!

While we were in the big city we also discovered something else that was new to us...
Go Karts. Oh boy did the kids love that!!

And an all time favorite- Boba Milk Tea
